Video Description: A video of a machine, accompanied by slight mechanical noises. The machine is a moving sculpture, made in the shape of a pale human torso, legs, and hand. It is sitting with one leg bent and propped against the other, so the hand, holding a razor, can repeatedly shave the same area of its leg. The machine is wearing blue striped white socks and boxers, and its other leg has a single bandaid. The unshaved leg is separated into two pieces, so the leg from the knee and below is connected to the thigh with pieces of wood, leaving the separation points between each “human” part visible. Similarly, the torso ends abruptly under where the ribcage would end on a human. It is cleanly split to show the unfinished insides, upon which the mainly-wooden mechanical workings are built, powering a hinged mechanism that serves as the statue’s arm, keeping the hand in motion.
